People that are quiet are not transparent. They don’t do things like ‘thinking aloud.’ They observe first and then speak only when they have something to say, which is usually for a specific reason. Because they aren’t the expected sort and you can’t comprehend or read their motives, I think it appears frightening and disturbing to others. Fear of the unknown has led some to believe that the silent ones have something to conceal or are keeping quiet in order to plot. They are disinterested, bored, passive-aggressive, arrogant, or ignorant. Not at all. really.
Empty vessels make the loudest noise while quiet people have the loudest minds.
Coming from an introvert known as the ‘silent girl,’ I’m not scared to speak—far from it. Simply said, I don’t waste my time or energy on immature or foolish individuals. If I don’t talk to you, it’s because I don’t like you and would rather store my energy for another time. I may appear to be disoriented, but I am completely aware of everything; I simply choose not to respond.
Quiet folks are sometimes misinterpreted. We feel adequate on our own or with a small circle of trusted pals. We’ve just outgrown the need for other people, preferring to value our own peace of mind and isolation instead.
Being quiet or an introvert has no negative connotations. We’re simply being ourselves. When you’re continuously surrounded by others, it’s easy to lose track of yourself. Accepting and appreciating isolation brings you one step closer to inner peace.
