Because they believe that there are shortcuts in life. That there is low hanging fruit waiting just for them. And they lack education. Perhaps they also lack self esteem and they self sabotage to confirm their identity. Most people fall prey to scams because they are greedy. They want to get or earn what they did not put in the work for as they are finding shortcuts to success. But success is a cruel task master, their is no escaping it. Those that try, end up crying, and saying that they’ve been scammed.

It has been seen that many teachers in universities have become entertainers rather than focusing mainly on value-addition and learning. A lot of time gets devoted to pleasing the students; knowing them personally; building good relations with them; and telling jokes and creating humour; the focus becomes more of good feedback than rigor. Keeping the audience motivated is good for effective teaching; but since a lot of time goes in entertainment less time remains for analysis and conceptualization. I suggest they do a compilation of both a little of rigor and a little of entertainment.
